Mary Lannin is a former member of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC), first appointed in 2014 based on the recommendation of the House Minority Leader. She completed two terms, ending December 2022. She served as Chairperson of the CCAC from 2015 – 2018, and again in 2021.
A resident of New York, her varied background includes a decade as a former public television producer director (KTCA-TV 1968-1978) and over 35 years in the wine business as former California winery owner (Murphy-Goode Estate Winery 1985-2006, Founding Partner) and representative (Winery Associates 1982-2000, National Accounts Director).
Her childhood love of coin collecting was rekindled when she purchased a Roman denarius once owned by John Quincy Adams, a noted coin collector and the sixth President of the United States.
Her current collecting interests are pedigreed coins, especially from women’s collections, as well as early collectors of the 20th century and their interactions with dealers and with each other.
is a Life Member of both the American Numismatic Society and American Numismatic Association and a member of the Royal Numismatic Society, the Swiss Numismatic Society, the San Francisco Ancient Numismatic Society, the Pacific Coast Numismatic Society, the Chicago Coin Club and is currently serving as Vice President of the New York Numismatic Club.
She has served as a member on the Board of Trustees of the American Numismatic Society since 2016.
A freelance editor with developed skills in numismatic publication, Ms. Lannin has worked with authors from the United States, Canada, Belgium, Germany, and Greece.
